I am waiting for my token number to call in the O.P. ward while the binge-watching latest season of my favorite drama.

If at all you have visited a crowded hospital to get the appointment you deserve my salute.

While I am feeling more bored I came out to roam in the hospital premises

there was an old man who is putting some curd rice in the disposable plates and handing over to the people.

The people who are not able to buy food are eating curd rice so quickly and drinking water to get their hunger satisfied.

I have asked him what was the reason behind this feeding.

His story made my eyes wet. His mother took her last breath in the same hospital because of breast cancer.

He knows what cancer patients go through. Feeding patients with curd rice made him feel his mother's presence still on the premises.

He still misses his mother and wants to see his mother's pain get relived by serving these patients.

He is around his late 70s. Don't we think loss and suffering are fewer terms for his pain?

His main intention is to make cancer patients not to feel about their life. He talks with them. He feeds and enquires about their health.

He makes them laugh. He wishes they would fight the disease and live cancer-free further.

The stranger with curd rice packets told me there is nothing like a bad day if you are being kind.
