There was neither wink nor nod from ordain as regards the ordeal. till then. But. my morning chore just got hitched up.

Tea time has always been an invocation for my sleepy soul. Lo! fate conspired and the milk curdled. With the stock of milk powder exhausted. I had to manage with green tea. that I do not relish in the morning. Poor me. What less could I have asked for?

I had planned to go out with friends so I took out my ever supportive pair of jeans and a pristine crispy ironed top from the wardrobe and a pair of high heeled shoes to match. I Had to take the stairs to board a taxi as lift repair work was going on. Another impediment planted deftly to screw me up.

As ill luck would have it. a nail inside shoe started pinching and piercing. Notwithstanding the pain i boarded and asked the driver to stop by the nearest shoe store. Having done with shopping and taxing my purse a bit. I headed for the venue of the meeting. Meena noticed my brand new shoes.

“When did you buy this pair, Jyoti? It goes well with your dress. ”

“Just now dear. I had to. ”-I narrated the incident.

“Well. Let me tell you something Jyoti. You have not pampered yourself of late. It is good that you bought something for yourself. ”

“Absolutely true Meena. Thanks for helping overcome those guilty feelings. ”

I Had fun with friends. enjoyed the food and had some relaxing moments. Repair of my mood as well as that of the lift had ensued by my return to nestle . After dumping my not so grumpy self on the favourite couch. I tried to analyze the quirky turn of events and concluded that. when fate conspires to play spoilsport. there is no let up. The quaint analysis was followed by safekeeping of milk pouches and milk powder packets for tomorrow morning's tea time. No. . not again green tea in the morning.
