His disappearance created a huge uproar and sensation in the country!

According to hearsay,Netaji had disguished himself in the name of Sabyasachi!

In 1941, on January 16 Netaji quietly escaped from 38/2, Elgin Road during night time, in an Audi Wanderer W24 .

Dressed in a long, brown coat, broad pyjamas and a black fez, Subhash Chandra Bose had just escaped from under the noses of the British police that had kept him under high security and strictly-monitored house arrest!

Netaji believed that an armed revolt could only free India from British occupancy!

Netaji then boarded a train from Gomo to Peshawar and from there he went to Germany..

In April 1941, India and the world were stunned when Germany’s Goebbel’s radio service announced that Netaji had arrived in Berlin to ask for Hitler’s help to deliver India from British rule!
