Every time teaches you something and life is all about learning the lessons. Happy times teaches you the beauty of the world and hard times they makes one understand the harsh reality of the world. And this Covid times have been the hardest of times globally. Not even a single person has been left untouched and everybody has something to learn and share. The good and the bad of lockdown may have been different for everyone around but I believe there has been one basic learning for all and that is the concept of "Minimalism".

We over the time have really expanded our desires in terms of need whether its shopping, leisure activities or basics like grocery and daily utilities of home. We first start with the temptation for new launches or to try different things or just because it's in the latest trend but then end up becoming addicted to it. Maybe we were always in a hurry and never really stopped to think about these basic habits that we are constantly developing and to understand how it affects our personality. But then the lockdown came, nobody was prepared and things started to fall apart. For the first time, we were locked in our own houses with our families and all the basic necessities like electricity and water and internet which should not have been that big a problem considering there are people stranded without shelter and food and water (Electricity and internet are luxuries for them) and some are away from their families but it felt so trapped like everything is closed and we have to be in home all the time. Ahh! So insane a human can be. But it was happening and we have to be prepared now.

I also like everyone around started to make the list of basic groceries and medicines and other stuff for home that we need. To my surprise, the list was not that long and all the things I needed were readily available at the nearest store. Also to add the list had Nutella and chips as well for the cravings ofcourse. Coming back from the store, I was thinking of all the possible things we can need for around a month and then found more things and did the shopping again. Because we human are a bit greedy and there are lot of things we buy in the name of "What If?".

It has been four months now being at home. The lockdown had different phases and there had been movement once in a while. But I must admit it, the list never changed. The basic list that we started was always the same with very few add ons. And there was lot of savings on that front because I figured out that most of my money doesn't go in rent or home stuff but in lot of other things that I bought considering a necessity. The decorative items for home which can be DIY, eating junk and ready made because don't feel like cooking moods, going to malls as it is weekend when we can have movie nights at home with popcorn and that is way more comfy, and the most important part working on the immunity by having more of seasonal and home cooked food which started with because of limited availability of vegetables and strong immunity can only help you in fighting this deadly disease really helps you in maintaining good health and also manages weight.

I wish we all can do without lot of things. I have started to give it a thought if I feel like buying anything or doing any task. It makes me more aware of who I am and what I really need and is that action really good for me. I will always keep this in mind. And wish everyone reading this will give it a thought. Getting back to "Minimalism".
