Conrad Wilson was a 21-year orphan living alone in a hut with a shattered roof and broken windows. Creepers and moss had grown all around the place giving the house a greenish look. His house looked as if it had almost been reclaimed by nature and they boy himself would soon be a part of it because he looked so pale. He hadn't eaten anything for a week and was starving for food. He had been working as an assembly worker at a cement production plant. However due to non payment of taxes for a long time, the owner of the plant was arrested and the factory had been sealed, leaving all it's employees with no source of income anymore. It had been a month since then and Conrad still didn't have a job nor any money to eat something. He roamed in the market everyday in hope of finding work to earn some money.

One day Conrad saw a brand new toy store in the market. It looked grand and certainly had a lack of workforce. There was a sign saying, "Hiring Now" at the front door. Conrad thought that he should try his luck here as he may get a job. He made up his mind as was just about to enter the shop when he halted in his tracks when he heard the someone from the shop telling his to stop. The person, Mr. Easton was the owner of the shop and came hurriedly towards Conrad. He came and asked Conrad what was he thinking while entering the shop. Conrad looked confused and asked Mr. Easton what was he saying. Mr. Easton angrily told him that this toy shop was like no other in the whole city, and only people with money come to buy here. Conrad told Mr. Easton that he had come here to apply for a job. Mr. Easton on hearing this became even more furious, he told Conrad that no one would like a person like him to work at such an elite place. A crowd had started forming near the shop, Mr. Easton kept on insulting Conrad, he felt embarrassed.

Conrad felt very insulted and was furious. The next day Conrad went to the fruit and vegetable shop in the market where he got a job to sell those since the owner was going to visit his grandchildren but did not want to close his shop. He worked hard to earn money and soon he was flourishing.

One day a gentleman in a suit came to his shop to buy some apples. He asked Conrad what the apples' price was. Conrad told him that 1kg apples were for 3$ and 3kg apples were for 10$. The man asked for 1kg of apples and paid 3$, after receiving those apples, asked for another kg of apples. Doing this one more time he bought 3kg of apples for 9$. The man then told Conrad that he bought 3kg apples for 9$ instead of 10$ which he told to be the price of 3kg apples. Conrad replied that people take more amount of apples just to show him that his pricing is wrong and in this way he easily sells his stock of fruits. The man was fascinated by this tactic and offered a job as a chief salesman in his company on the spot. Conrad was very happy with this and accepted the offer very happily.

Although he suffered losses in his life, Conrad remained positive and was thus able to achieve something he never even dreamed of.
