Irony

One day I don't know what really struck the mind of our society secretary who is a renowned industrialist that he decided to do something regarding environmental awareness. Before anything else, a meeting was held in the society Community Hall on environmental awareness which is fully air-conditioned and usually sparkles with lights not less than a party hall. Soon, elders-youngers, men-women, and kids all were gathered at the proposed venue and time. The meeting started everyone poured ideas and discussion continued for about an hour but they reached no conclusion.

The meeting was suspended for a lunch break. Everyone had the snacks and beverages arranged and soon after that litter of plastic cutlery was clearly visible. Thereafter meeting resumed everyone agreed on the idea of organising a rally and assembly on regarding environmental awareness.

Soon necessary preparations were made posters, hoardings and banners were hanged in all the nearby areas. A ground near society was decided for Assembly. In the ground, there was a tree in the middle which was making waves in the seating arrangement. The easiest and most suitable way was to cut it and they did so. Proper water spraying was done to prevent any kind of dust blow. There was a huge water tanker used for it.

Soon the day arrived, everyone reached the proposed place. Ah! I forgot to mention that it was not more than half kilometres away from society. Everyone reached the point in their AC cars and some were rich enough to go with a convoy of two or more cars. 

The program was wonderful, many renowned personalities of the city gave speeches. For the rally, there were people holding flashcards. I don't need to mention that they were of paper and cardboard (derived from plants) and some of the plastic. There was a proper arrangement of packed water bottles for everyone taking part in the rally. Should I mention that bottles are of plastic? Well, the whole program soon came to the closing ceremony. everyone was given a which consisted of the methods to SAVE WATER, FUEL, TREES, BIRDS and the articles for environmental awareness. Ah! I forgot to tell you about the scenario of the street after the rally. You can easily imagine that.

The irony is, we did something regarding environmental awareness.
