The moment when she got bear hug,

That couldn't hold herself up anymore,

She broke down in his arms,

Throwing away all her insecurities,

Pouring out those remaining tears.

Surrounded with absolute silence,

Her weeping is all he could hear,

Tears as pure as rain droplets,

Drenching his shoulder completely.

Words went futile for an instant,

As her eyes did all the speaking,

Longingly asking - "Dont you miss me?",

Expecting his eyes to reply - "I do!",

Instead she heard his increased voice tone.

With a twinge of unease,

she came back to real world,

Only to see him worried - "Are you OK? You seem to be lost in some thoughts!"

"If thoughts are the only place,

Where we could be together,

I will be so glad to get lost there,

any number of times", she murmured.

"Sorry, I couldn't hear what you said",

he told with a confused look.

'Some things are better untold',

she thought to herself.

"Never mind. It's good to see you again",

she said it alongwith faking a smile.

As she gazed up at him,

He uttered those words -

"We will be expecting your presence"

And handed over his marriage invitation.

As he waved bye,

She stood dumbstruck,

Watching him leaving again.

Never ever she dreamt that,

Out of things which she saved,

As part of his memory,

This invitation card would be the last.

His name is always her favorite,

As she always wanted it,

To be her future surname.

Until now, her favorite hobby is

To frame cute pretty sobriquets,

with names of his and hers.

As she glared at invitation,

The realization hits her hard,

That beside his name,

her name can't be along, no more.

And all she could feel is,

a strong piercing through her heart.

Her tears drenched again,

not his shoulders this time,

but the invitation.
