My heartbeats rose, I was really scared and my hands were shaking really fast.

The doctor entered the cabin and his face was saying it all...

13th April 2018

I can never forget that day when it was detected that my wife Samantha had a hole in her heart. The doctors had clearly stated that it was too late and nothing could be done, she might die in the span of one month. Samantha was my heartthrob and there was no way I was going to let her go. At that point in time, she only said one thing to me "I have been called, there is nothing you can do to fix it and I don't want you to either, take care of Jacob and I will always love you". The world had just stopped for me. There were tears falling from my eyes, I couldn't really feel a thing at that point in time. it was a moment of realization that it was all coming to an end and there was nothing that could be done to rectify it.

As soon as we reached home we just went off to bed; we both couldn't sleep but still had dead silence in the room. In the morning the silence continued until Jacob got up. Just think of the effect it might have on a child knowing that his mother is going to die. Samantha and I both decided to keep it a secret and act normal. I went for work even though I didn't want to because Samantha insisted to me saying "It might divert your mind". I was having complete breakdowns every 20 - 30 minutes where tears would just start dripping from my eyes automatically. It happened to the point that I was sent home early. At home as soon I saw Samantha I completely threw up. It was the pain and grief that I was not able to withhold inside. Samantha said "I know that this...this is not something we expected but please try and stay strong...the next 1 month is all I got...please don’t make me see this and go, please"

In the next 3 weeks, we tried to bring in a bit of positivity and happiness in our lives, it was really difficult but we still tried. I took a complete off from my work and just focused on keeping Samantha happy. We went to malls, beaches, played indoor games like monopoly and many other things. In the three weeks, we had we bonded to the level that was never attained before. For a moment there we both had forgotten that there was something inevitable waiting at our doorstep.

7th June 2018

I hadn't seen Samantha happier than this any day, it was like she got a new life. She was already early in the morning sitting on the sofa. As soon as we got up and came down she hugged us both tightly and said: "thank you". She kissed Jackson in the forehead and said she was going to make the 'Samantha Special Waffles' today especially for him. She went into the kitchen dancing with joy.

*Fall sound*

What happened?! Samantha?? Samantha!!

They say that people who are going to die to get to know about it way beforehand.

My Grandmother was also the happiest on her own death day.

Life is very precious; live it in the best way possible as you may not know when the inevitable knocks on your door
