Imam Hussain (AS)

This is heartbreaking story of a beautiful, faithful and obedient young man, who sacrificed his whole family, including his followers for sake of Allah. He is Hazrat Imam hussain (as) who did not give up worshipping Allah. even, He lost his life. He didn't give allegiance to Yazid, successor to his father Muawiya. Hussain (as) left his pure legacy as an ideal to follow. He differentiated between right and wrong. He rejected wrong and pursued right. ""What was his mistake, that cost him his life??"" His mistake was, He didn't compromise with people who oppressed the poor, committed illegal sexual intercourse and drank alcohol.

The person who assassinated him and his followers was The Yazid. Yazid (son of Muawia) who was cruel, drunkard and transgressor. Yazid was appointed to rule Muslims by his father Muawiya, who was caliphate of Islam after hazrat Ali RZ. Yazid proposed Hussain (AS) to pull together with him in his tyrant, brutal actions and wanted Hussain AS to follow him (yazid). Hussain AS replied to him, " you are doing everything illegally against Islam and against my grandfather, the prophet Hazrat Muhammad peace be upon him."" Hussain (AS) said to him, " I would not accept your proposal to stand against my Religion and my Grandfather peace be upon him." 

Yazid threatened him(Hussain AS) and tortured his followers and family to do as he wanted them to do, but hazrat Hussain (AS) stuck to his opinions and to his prayers, he didn't give up following right. So, He travelled makkah with his family and followers, he encamped in desert land known karbala, modern day Iraq. When yazid came to know that Hussain (AS) was there in desert with family and with his seventy three followers. He decided to assassinate them there, so yazid gathered his whole force to battle with hussain (AS). Yazid ordained his forces to cut off the water, means block water from reaching Hussain (AS).

For three days hussain (AS) was not given water. It was tenth muharram, first month of Islamic calendar, the Yazid started martyring everyone including children in that duel. Hazrat Hussain (As) alone was left, except women who were in camp, He bid his family last farewell and started fighting, he was injured or maimed with arrows and swords by cruel army of yazid. Hussain (As ) Said to forces of yazid, " It is my prayer time, so let me pray, after we would fight." while Hussain (As) was in prayer, these tyrant people of yazid beheaded him in prayer. 

He gave away his life, but did not follow cruelty and oppression of the poor and drinking of menthol and did not miss his prayers. Wah Hussain (AS) Wah!!!!!
