Homeless
Homeless
A homeless man named Sikandar just heard the news that the government has announced a 21-day lockdown in the country and everyone should stay home because of the Corona Virus. He thought they would say something about homeless people and make arrangements for their stay. But there was no such news. He was worried. What should I do now? He used to get his food by begging outside a temple which was now closed. The water tank outside the temple is also now empty. He had no water or food. He couldn't sleep that night thinking about what he would do.
A few NGOs started giving food and water to him once a day and he managed for about a week. But that also stopped after strict rules.
He went to the nearby municipal office and asked for accommodation but they told him that they are looking after patients and not for homeless people. They advised him to stay home as if they had forgotten he is homeless. He started walking and decided he will not stay in one place. In 2 days he reached another city. He was stopped by police and asked where he came from. When he told them he came from a city which is Corona hotspot he was put in quarantine. He was very happy at the quarantine center. He knew he wouldn't have to worry about food and water for at least 15 days. He smiled at everyone in the quarantine center who wanted to go home as he had finally found a place he could call home.
