Himalayas In Me

Himalayas In Me

Years back, one rainy afternoon brought the "nostalgic" out of me. Well, nostalgia or longing, or love- not sure what to call it. Maybe it is an incurable addiction.

There I was sitting in my computer desk working on something that helped me in paying bills..not something I wanted to do but it was something I had to do.

It was raining outside - continous, uninterupted pitter- patter ..mild drumming as I fondly call it......and within it I felt the Himalayas vividly. Though seperated from them by thousand of miles I could not rid them from my soul...at that very instant I felt every bit of the Himalayan rainy afternoon..memories came flooding in.. could smell the fog, mist, clouds, pines, deodars, rain-drenched mountain soil-could clearly hear the hoo-hoo-hoo sounds of the strong rain winds, the sound of rain on our tinned roof, all at once... I could clearly see the clouds engulfing the valley slowly, leaving the hilltops alone...tiny precious droplets of rain clinging on to the flower petals and hanging on from the pine leaves ..

Once you have lived in the mountains, for any length of time...you belong to them. Mountains then become your constant companion, in your sorrows and joys, in your lonely moments and in your hustle bustle...

My Enchantress, I belong to you.
