Happily Ever After

The happily ever after in the books and movies always seem like an open ending and a false promise. As a child, fairy tales still were beacons of hope. I believed that ultimately we would find happiness after a struggle. Some of these beliefs are deeply embedded in my system even today. However, happiness in real life is like a mirage. When we come across a difficult situation, we work hard to handle it. We promise ourselves that we will help joy and peace once the dark clouds tide over. But once, we reach the destination; the rules are changed. We spend our lives chasing one dream after another. However, we do not have the choice to ignore or skip a level. We chalk it up to experience and try to move on. Happily ever after might be a distant dream, but we can find an oasis of happiness. Or that is what I tell myself in the hope that this would not be my last post.
