FIREFLY IN THE NIGHT SKY!

FIREFLY IN THE NIGHT SKY!

So,

Mathematics was my weakest subject till Eight standard,no amount of practice could help me gain some marks in it. I simply didn't understand how can someone probably like that subject?

Days passed...

We were now in the Ninth standard!

Big class indeed!

And higher the class, more difficult and vast the syllabus.

FIRST DAY

Our class teacher was a Mathematics teacher.

Imagine what it felt to attend Maths class right in the morning and that too for a student like who had loathed the subject so much!

Time flies...

So as our classes began we realized that a subject is only difficult when you are not able to understand it completely. We began to like Maths

(A BIT) .

In our Maths periods, we solved the questions as if we made up stories or as if we were trying to play with numbers. Our teacher's teaching style was so interesting that now we didn't feel like the sums were some peculiar insects or maybe some weird ghosts staring at us! (NOT FUNNY.)

END OF NINTH STANDARD

We were now in the Tenth standard!

(YES, we had board examinations right on our head!)

Right from the beginning of this class, our class teacher began telling us about what type of questions would come in the exam. She also told us about the mistakes we will make in the Pre-Board exams. (Ma'am was sure about our mistakes, though we laughed it off when she warned us!)

Days passed,

Haly yearly examinations were round the corner.

It was in mid-September, Maam told us that she was going for a long break due to some prior commitments and will only return after our Board exams...

We felt as if the World had crashed upon us!

AND.

Maam did not come from the next day.

TWO MONTHS BEFORE OUR BOARD EXAMS

Pre-board results were out. Coincidentally, I and my best friend Sneha had made the same mistakes in our Maths answer sheet which our teacher had told us about! (We were being so foolish to have laughed earlier..)

BOARDS

So, boards began and I was pretty confident the day before the Maths exam. I had thoroughly practiced sample question papers in the way our teacher had taught us.

FEW DAYS BEFORE THE RESULT DAY

I visited the nearby Kali temple and I prayed Maa, telling her," Ma, please Maths ta dekhe niyo!"(Maa, please look after my marks in Maths!)

THE DAY OF RESULT

This time results were being announced without any prior notice. We could already feel millionfold emotions and thoughts dancing inside our Brain! (HIP-HOP)

It was our English Period, Sneha came to our class an shouted, "ARRE, RESULTS ARE OUT!!"

We went crazy after she said that. The whole eleventh standard started running helter-skelter.

I went to the computer lab and opened the website...

MMYY...MY HANDS WERE...SHAKKING..like anything!

I ENTERED ALL THE DETAILS.

AND...

I noticed my marks in all the subjects except Mathematics(My eyes did not want to see it!)

Suddenly someone yelled-

100...100

WHAT!?

I had got a 100/100 in Mathematics.

I mean can you believe this? I simply couldn't. (Not even today!)

I ran outside my school gate and hugged my Mom. At the same time, dad phoned me...

And after that, I dialed someone to give this unbelievable news...

You know who it was.
