Fiction Man
Fiction Man
Kavya was an introvert who had just joined the university for her first year of graduation. She was very particular about her choices, loved reading fiction, and often dreamt of having a boyfriend like the men in her favorite novels. She hoped for a rude, brooding guy but wasn’t particularly excited about her university life. Her heart was set on finding someone who matched her fictional ideals.
As Kavya started attending classes, she couldn't help but notice the boys around her, hoping to find her dream man. It was during this time she met Sonali, a talkative and extroverted girl who loved watching boys, especially their seniors. Sonali quickly became Kavya’s best friend and the reason Kavya started actively looking for her ideal guy. While Sonali made friends easily, including some seniors, Kavya found none of her classmates interesting. Sonali, on the other hand, was the life of the campus, dragging Kavya into her social circle.
With their first-semester exams approaching, Kavya and Sonali were desperate for notes. Sonali turned to her senior friends, but they were all lazy and poor in studies. They recommended another group of seniors who were brilliant but notoriously rude. The most prominent name they heard was Rohan, a typical senior known for his stern demeanor. Despite the warnings, Sonali decided to seek him out.
Dragging Kavya along, Sonali scoured the university in search of Rohan. They finally bumped into a tall guy wearing a black shirt and blue jeans, headphones in his ears. "Can't you see?" he shouted angrily when Sonali collided with him. "You also have eyes, you can see too," Sonali retorted with equal anger. Kavya felt embarrassed and shocked, but she couldn’t help being mesmerized by the guy. As Sonali continued arguing, Kavya realized she might have found her dream guy. Sonali noticed Kavya's reaction and felt awkward, wondering how her best friend could like someone who had just fought with her.
Later, a senior informed Sonali that Rohan was in the canteen. Without hesitation, Sonali and Kav
ya headed there. Sonali whispered that she could easily befriend him. However, when she tapped his shoulder, she accidentally pushed him, causing his face to dip into a cake. Rohan turned angrily, and everyone laughed, especially Kavya. Recognizing him, Sonali quickly apologized, pleading for notes. Rohan, still furious, shouted, "Go to hell."
Sonali was fuming on their way home. "How dare he refuse us!" she said, warning Kavya not to develop feelings for such a rude person. The next day, Kavya was sitting alone, making notes, when Rohan approached her. She blushed as he handed her his notes, explaining that as seniors, they were supposed to help juniors. Kavya smiled, and Rohan introduced himself before leaving. Kavya was overjoyed, and when Sonali found out, she was shocked but happy for her friend.
As time passed, Kavya and Rohan’s interactions increased. One day, Kavya received a friend request from Rohan on Instagram. Excited, she accepted it. Rohan messaged her, teasing her about her anonymous ID. The next day, he pulled her aside, playfully scolding her for not replying properly. Rohan started helping Kavya with her assignments and included her in his group. He was not only a scholar but also the captain of the football team and played at the state level. Kavya was living her fantasy.
One day, a guy gave Rohan a love letter for Kavya. Jealous, Rohan threw it away and rushed to find her. He saw the guy trying to talk to her and pulled her aside. "What were you doing with him?" he asked, tense. Kavya explained the guy liked her, but she hadn’t responded. Relieved, Rohan hugged her tightly and confessed his love. Kavya, emotional, confessed she loved him too.
The next day, during a football match, Rohan kept glancing at Kavya, smiling. After winning the match and being named man of the match, he pulled Kavya close, thanking her for completing him. They kissed, sealing their love. Their love story was one of unexpected meetings and blossoming feelings, proving that sometimes, reality could be just as magical as fiction.
