We the girls of Engineering batch from Mysore decided to have a get together in Bangalore. This needed us to understand who were in Bangalore and who were not so that the number of people attending could be ascertained. The great networking classmates created a group - you might have guessed , another of WhatsApp group by getting the contacts of all good friends, know them but not interacted with them friends and every girl of our batch who wanted to be part of the group.

Group created and greetings exchanged, the count of the girls in Bangalore was known. Then came the hard task of choosing the date and time for the get together. Um.. this was tough. Each of us had their own schedules to meet and the thought of meeting some long lost friends was in the minds of all too. Finally , a Sunday dinner was acceptable to the majority of the people. Now, the venue, what type of food and possibly drinks? This threw up a lot of choices to cater to the taste and veg/non-veg options of all the people getting together. Finally, the Toscana at UB City was considered the venue as it was centrally located for all and had the options needed by all.

The- day came and all of us got together at Toscana - hugs were exchanged. Slowly our lives spent apart was pieced together with many of them having grown up children, a few with little ones (these girls were the ones who married or had children late). Were we working at home or office or both. How were we coping with the pressures and stresses of motherhood and a lot more thoughts about how we had all grown over our fears and tribulations to be where we were that day.

It was fun and laughter pulling each others legs and remembering the "the good old days" at collage. The dinner and drinks(soft and not so soft) served, everyone had a good time and left with a bye- bye to keep in touch at least every quarter or whenever a person from places outside Bangalore arrived in Bangalore.

Fortunately, these meetings have continued and I have got to know many of them lot more closely that when I was in college. Thanks to the modern day necessities or evils(which ever way you look at it) like WhatsApp, Facebook, LinkedIn doing their jobs of linking near and far friends. .
