Dhoni:A Down To Earth Person!

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the former Indian captain, is a very down to earth person! 

This incident occurred in 2006. Dhoni had already become a star with some memorable performances. It was the marriage of an acquaintance's sister. When he had gone to give the card to Dhoni's brother, Dhoni was cleaning his bike in the garden.

On seeing him Dhoni asked about his well-being. The former told Dhoni that his sister's marriage was fixed and so he had come to give the card to Dhoni's brother.

Dhoni asked him he would not call him to the marriage ceremony as well. The acquaintance replied that Dhoni had become a star now. And he did not think that he would come to the wedding!

To this Dhoni said that no that is not the thing. He would definitely come to the wedding. 

Dhoni kept his words and came to the wedding on time(with his friends). As he was a star by then, hence people instantly recognized him and tried to get his autograph and posed for photos with him. As it was becoming difficult to keep the interest of people in marriage as they were more interested in Dhoni, it was decided by the family to keep Dhoni in a secluded place, and he and his friends were kept secretly in a room! 

It was told to people that Dhoni had left for his home. People readily believed this as no star stays for so long at a normal function!  

Dhoni stayed locked in that room with his friends till the marriage was over! He and his friends had dinner there itself after the marriage was over. He could have chosen to eat before but he chose to eat late as it was a custom in the side that the Girl's side eats later than the guy's side! As Dhoni was from the girl's side, he followed the custom. He along with his friends then secretly left the venue.

All those who know Dhoni or have met him, know that he is very well behaved and a humble person. It is because of this nature he was able to survive so well in Indian cricket despite coming from a small town. He is loved and admired by millions of his fans.
