Nisha Mariam Jones, had a bad dream last night. She was feeling lonely after her divorce from Mr. Jose Kurian. Well, that was her own decision of leaving behind a rogue who was more like a virus in her life. He was like a leech, surviving on her money. Their marriage alliance was fixed by a relative and she did not know till that day that one should not trust anyone blindly. Marriage can be a gamble then not a bed of love.

The only flaw in Nisha Mariam Jones was her weight. She was extremely overweight though not an Obese. She was very hardworking and worked as a teacher with a Christian School. She loved teaching but daily trolling by students on her weight made her depressed. She quit school and started teaching at her friend, Nishant's coaching class. The students there came from another background, small vernacular medium schools and Nisha became a favourite teacher for them. She was enjoying her work and Nishant proposed her. He was very handsome and without saying much she nodded a 'yes' to him. They had the best romance, maybe teenager love with Indian Burgers and Ice cream. After the classes, they would enjoy something or the other junk food and Nisha never bothered about her weight. Seven years she waited for Nishant to marry her but one fine day, he just walked out of her life.

"His reason was her Christian background that won't be accepted in his community."

" You are a coward, Nish... I hate you..." This was the last message she had sent him. She had convinced him that she can even get converted.

"Religion was never an issue for her. She believed in one God and one love."

Nothing could convince Nishant and he shut down his classes. He took a job in the USA with an automobile company. Nisha joined a gym and took a break for two years. Her parents were also dependent on her salary so she took home tuitions and small odd jobs from home. She had lost enough weight but 50 grooms have already rejected her and she was ready to marry Jose, out her parents will.

"She could smell the rat from the first night. She was intoxicated and tortured daily to take up a job. She realised Jose was a psycho and his parents have cheated her and her parents. They stole her Gold ornaments and enjoyed their life. She was not given food or allowed to move out of the home. She ate leftovers and one fine day she escaped from their home."

She flew to Banglore and booked a hotel room. She had sold the rest of her Gold ornaments and decided to release her tension with tours. 15 days passed and what was the next step? She could not think much but talk to her virtual friend who had a small office at Bengaluru. She had called her dad and told a lie that she was in Alibaug. She bought a secret number and she was just in touch with her mom. She even did not trust her dad.

She wanted to be a free bird. She decided to file a case for the same reason she flew back to Mumbai and contacted the best lawyer and her friend Prajacta. The case was filed and Jose would deliberately miss the date or threaten her of something.

"The Cat and the mouse game was on and finally, Nisha put a police case on Jose. After 3 years, Jose decided to give her a divorce, mutually with alimony of a lakh rupees. Nisha just agreed to it and finally, the divorce paper came in."

Next day, she decided to party alone and secretly went to Matheran. She made her new facebook account and searched for Nishant. He could see her in "People you may know." He sent her a friend request. He told her that he was working now in Mumbai in a call centre. His marketing job was boring. He also informed her that they are looking for a copywriter. Nisha agreed to his suggestion and went for an interview, the next day.

Nishant waited for her in the Lobby. He looked extremely handsome in his white shirt and black trousers. Nisha was wearing her lucky blue Kurta and White leggins.

They both exchanged a smile and went to the canteen. They just discussed the office rules with a cup of coffee. Nishant hugged Nisha and wished her luck.

It was a long day and after the interview, Nisha waited for Nishant in the Canteen.

"What will you have?" Nishant asked Nisha cordially.

"I am comfortable with anything you wish to have," Nisha replied.

They ordered Maggie as it was raining outside. They walked hand in hand without any personal talks but the cherished memories at his coaching classes. They parted hurriedly as Nishant had to go to Panvel and might miss his train. She had not asked his number but she had him on friend book.

It was midnight and Nishant messaged her:

"Today was the best day of my life and we have cherished our memories. I love you and I know exactly what happened with you? I was detected with Cancer when I was in USA and more than 7 years I suffered. I never prayed to God but your face like Goddess will come in my dreams and console me. It is because of me that you had to suffer. Now, I am in the last stage of the disease. It was my last day today at work and I deliberately wasted your time with the vacancy news. The interviews conducted were fake by my friends and I am sure you won't forgive me but please don't hate me. Please pray for me and Sandy is still single. Will you marry him?"

Nisha was heartbroken but her heart said unfriend him...

"She was not in a mood to give him empathy but she just wanted to cherish her Maggie memory with him."

"You are a traitor. I know you were married to Joanna in the USA. She divorced you and now you want me to run and come back to you. I am sorry, I am not the innocent-child-like Nisha. I am a mature woman. My dream is not to marry but to adopt a dog. The dog will be always loyal to me. But of course, being your ex-lover, I enjoyed my day with you and will cherish this memory forever and ever. Goodbye." Nisha sent this message to him and blocked him forever. Nisha had changed five dogs but never again thought of a man. She was happy in her life but secretly she prayed for him. He had settled in life with Nepali wife and Jose had died was her relief to live.

Moral: "Some memories are best, some are worst but keep the best and remove the toxic."
