I was jogging along the road lane early morning. A car hits me from the back.
"I am so-so sorry," a female voice announced. It was a young girl, in a loose T-shirt and knee-length shorts clothes expressed her sorrow after hitting me from her car.
"I am so sorry. Are you all right ?" She repeated with tucking hair behind an ear.
I was not alright but when a girl with your age asking, it is not possible to deny No I'm not.
"I am okay!" I said with a painful face.
Somehow she extended her hand and lift me.
"Can I offer you a lift?" She asked politely.
"Yeah, I need it." I agreed
She asked me "please come in."
"Tighten your seat belt and see this is 'L' "asked the young girl pointing to windscreen.
"Are you learning to drive ?" I asked surprisingly
"Don't worry! I will be driving slower." She told with smiling face.
"Ok! I am Mahnoor, by the way, listen I am sorry." She said adjusting her hair with the left hand and steering control with the right hand.
"I am Johnson, still alive and talking to you so it's okay." I grinned.
It seemed she was driving at one km per hour. Her barefoot with a black ring was on the accelerator. It was not less than a moon in the dark sky. I wished to milk the moment.
"Where to drop you?" She asked.
"At FRK," I Said. (FRK is a hostel near about 4 to 5 hundreds meter from the place where I met with car hit.)
"FRK hostel, So a student, eh?"
" yes final year, Electronics Engineering," I said
" Cool, so how are you finding it, college and other things? Fun?" She asked
"Nothing much, running around the time to keep the things updated. Preparing interview questions, project discussions, participating in GDs, Presentations, etc." I spoke for a minute.
"So you need to study a lot...? Hmm...I see" she expressed.
"My mother is a professor." She said.
"Really? " I said and spooked with charms.
"Yes, I live in the faculty residential complex...
My mother Professor Afsa, teaches Thermodynamics to Final year Mechanical Engineering students. " she said.
We chatted a few minutes along our hostel road and she told me about her school days and current education and many things.
I was mesmerized with flowing black hair and eyes that vaguely recalled the Moorish conquerors.
"This is your hostel " she stopped the car by applying the brake.
"Oh yes!" I said by coming out from the fanciful world.
"Hey, Johnson! Come tomorrow morning, will let you drive where will have tea and coffees."
She asked with flying hand from her driving seat.
"Yes, I will" I replied with full agreement.
She went by accelerating car...
My entire day passed by thinking about her. I told the scene with my friends. They excited me for the next meeting. I decided to meet her again. I went on jogging early morning, wishing to meet her.
"Hey, Johnson! " She shouted from the back with gentle horn sounding pee-pee.
I exclaimed with happiness by looking at her. She wore a green sleeveless frock and black shoes.
She was looking like an actress and the scene was like a video shot for an album.
Early morning, chirping birds and flowing fresh breeze were energizing and refreshing.
I took the front seat beside her, she accelerated and drove swiftly. We arrived at a tea stall near the roadside. We took two cups of tea and that day the conversation was different.
Gradually our everyday topics turned to deep discussions and eventually we turned best friends.
