Achiever and the Athlete

Being an overachiever is totally boring, your life revolves with academics, school competitions, athletic and other curricular activities. I get up every morning thinking about what I should accomplish within a day and that's my daily routine since I started my Junior High School year, but not until I met this girl. 

Mary can you please assist these delegates to their respective rooms?

 If you're wondering why i'm in charge of these works let me tell you one thing I'm the President of our School Government. 

Hey miss what's your name? I heard someone asked from one of the athletes. I'm Andrew by the way I turned to him and I saw him smiling widely at me and so as his eyes. He's tall for a 16 year old and he's cute too but I'm not interested. I rolled my eyes at him. I already know that typical moves and it doesn't work for me. 

I was about to go back to the student government office to finish some stuffs when this girl approached me. My eyes were glued at her for a second and I was just staring at her when the sun hits her eyes and I saw her beautiful brown eyes that made me stop. She is way taller than me and she's wearing a varsity jacket with a badminton racket at her back she's so charismatic yet appealing, so a badminton player huh I said in my mind. I looked away when I realized that I was stunned by her presence. 

Hi! Can I ask you a question? Where is the gym? My game is almost starting and I'm having a hard time finding it she asked politely.

I tried my best not to stutter because my heart is pounding and I don't know the reason why. Her voice is like music to my ears and it's melting me. What is happening to me? I asked myself. This is not good. 

I don't know how to instruct her properly and I'm starting to panic. Luckily I saw my friend Xian heading to the gym since he's a badminton player too. Xian! I called him. He walked through my direction and greeted me. 

Accompany her to the gym since you're both badminton players. I said stiffly. I need to get out from that situation because it's suffocating I can almost hear my heartbeat for god sake. 

I turned my back at them but I stopped when I heard her say something.

See you. I turned around and I saw her smiling at me that made my face turned into red. I heard her giggle. Did she just saw me blush!? What the!? It's so embarrassing. I ran towards our office and drank some water to ease the tension I've felt. 

Her face lingered in my mind the whole day and I can't forget her that made me feel irritated.

I can't accept the fact that I am attracted to a girl but at the same time I'm so excited. 

Get your act together Mary! Don't be affected by that girl. I said to myself. 

I didn't saw her again the whole day because I was busy assisting the coaches and the other delegates too. The competition ended in 3 days and I didn't saw her again. I've never felt so sad like this before. I didn't even knew her name. I sighed at that thought. Days had passed and the school was back to normal but still I'm thinking of her. Do I have a crush on her? I asked myself. There's no way I'm having a crush on a girl I'm straight! I continued convincing myself that I'm straight but the memory of her smiling at me keeps on haunting me. 

Ever since that day I admitted that I had a crush on her and it made me so happy and sad at the same time because she's from a different school and it's far from ours. Finally my highschool life would be exciting. I looked at the clouds and I uttered to myself, 'til our next encounter baby".
