A Swan Song

In her short hair, with a serene face and dreamy eyes, the young lady with a tattoo of a butterfly on her hand, stood in the spotlight to give her final performance. As she began to sing, a mesmerized audience listened to the passionate and haunting voice in silent stupefaction. The panel of jury stood up to give a standing ovation to the soul-stirring rendition when quite overwhelmed, the singer announced to a surprised crowd, it was her swan song. She confessed to a bewildered and inquisitive audience, that she was to become a bride soon, removing the clouds of anxiety and doubts from the relieved crowd. The day arrived....she was clad in her white bridal clothes, a tiara of fresh flowers rested on her head, a divine grace radiating from her serene face. As the breeze hummed an ethereal tune, a tiny beautiful butterfly, dappled in colourful hues, flapped its wings and flew heavenwards as the coffin was being lowered....
