'A' Shift Duty

'A'shift duty:

I entered the plant and relieved 'C' shift in charge after taking note of all the activities regarding production. Instructing shift supervisors, operators, assistant operators and helpers, I took a round of the plant. Insomniac eyes of the night were not ready to droop at all. 

Provoking thoughts struck my mind. Questions of interview that I had appeared for the renowned organization again raised their eyebrows and my answers fought with them to prove their worth.

Dreams of sister's marriage, plush home and cosy life seemed like Herculean task in mental horizon.

Looking at the azure sky and praying to God, I growled in silence to forgive me for my insincerity during engineering days. I blamed myself for the sporadic studies of my engineering for the failure in competitive exams.

Taking oath that along with my regular duties, I would devote time for rigorous study to write exams to the best of my ability with a view to making myself able to appear more interviews of prestigious organization to rewrite my future, I started checking different process parameters required for significant production with much determination. 

Time sprinted to carry forward all the activities of shift and siren signaled the end of my shift as my reliever reached for 'B' shift to take charge from me.
