Hello there. Glad to meet you. I am going to pen down an interesting story now!

Bet an exciting feeling is running through your nerves to read my story.

Let's see what this story is all about !!!

There was a school named “Nick Scholars”, the school organized every year Sports Annual Day. Various types of sports like Cricket, Football, Basket Ball, Dodge ball and last but not the least Mini Golf were conducted in which a huge number of students participated. All the students were very excited about choosing their FAVOURITE sport so that they can win the match very easily and also get the awards in the form of prize, medals and trophies.

BUT GUESS WHAT !! Teachers surprised the students and they smartly prepared CLASS WISE participation list for sports. Thank Goodness class 7 was allotted Cricket as a sport to be played and I am in class 7! Hurray !!!

I go to Cricket class every weekend and I am batsman and wicket-keeper of my team, and I also have joined school cricket training sessions so I am hoping to win all the matches.

We also have sports dance in annual events like Zumba Dance. But I don’t like doing the dance. EVENTUALLY all the years, teachers always choose me as the star leader even though I do it for passing my time they think I am a good dancer. Anyways back to my story. There were trial rounds for selection in a team, sir told each and every student to bat and ball including their wicket keeping and fielding.

Those who were chosen for wicket keeping, they were not allowed for fielding and bowling. I easily qualified wicket-keeping and batting. I was qualified wicket keeping, so there was no chance I can get bowling or fielding. So we were divided into groups by our houses like

BLUE HOUSE, GREEN HOUSE, YELLOW HOUSE, RED HOUSE, VIOLET HOUSE.

I was in RED HOUSE. Our matches were going to start from the next week, so I and my team had some time to practice and warm-up before the match starts. The matches had begun but the first match was GREEN HOUSE VS YELLOW HOUSE. And the next match was ours,

RED HOUSE VS VILOT HOUSE.

Oh no… we were playing opposite to the team which was 2 Years Champions, and on that, we had not played a single match with that team. So we had no experience playing with them, as we had experience for other teams they also had loads of good players!

Alas! We got one more day to practice and also to improve our weakness so that we can win and beat the VIOLET HOUSE. We practised day and night until the lamp goes off. We were also confident about winning and all good luck to us. While leaving from home Mom, Dad, Sister and Granny gave their good wishes to me. Sis told that “I am sure you are going to win and also reach the next round.” if I won then the credit goes to my family and my team.

Yesterday’s match was won by the YELLOW HOUSE  and it was known that the Yellows crushed the Greens BADLY. But then our matches had begun. We did the toss and the Violets had won the toss, they PURPOSELY chose BATTING FIRST. How did they know that our bowling was weak? I was sure that the Violets were cheating (they might be peeping while we were practising as the practice grounds are the same for all the teams). As our team Captain was continuously giving instructions and getting angry on the bowlers for not balling properly, not getting wickets and giving room to score well.

Anyways there were 10 overs that means 60 balls the Violets used their best batsmen at the beginning. We gave up… on our belief of winning …hmm …so sad.

BUT GUESS WHAT !! The first ball was a wicket yay!! The batsman was so overconfident that he stroke the ball so high up in the air and I caught the ball at the backside. After this, we played well doing some more wickets and dot balls and they also played well as they also stroked 6’s and 4's and then finally the 1st innings was done! The score they gave us to chase was 104 runs in 60 balls, a pretty good score though.

I and my good pal were the openers for our RED HOUSE. I and my friend had begun playing the first over. We had good runs like 11 runs in one over. Then we played well and I had made a score of 63 runs and my partner scored only 27 runs. This means we needed 14 runs in 3 over.NICE! There was a rise of hope… Victory is ours! Bravo !!

But we have to face the bad ending, the 7th over was a maiden over, this means 14 runs in 12 balls easy win, still but why was it a maiden over? We played well for the 8th over and the final score was 6 balls 6 runs, each ball 1 run was enough. But the Violets had chosen their best bowler for the last over …oh no that bowler was able to all out each and every champ player even if the score was very easy.

He was one of the important bowlers and he had a hat trick in the last year. I was so scared to play even we just needed 6 runs in 6 balls (actually I was not so scared) for the first it was a dot ball, but I think one dot ball will be ok…. So I was again ready to bat but then he again played a dot ball, 2 dot balls this means our status is 4 balls 6 runs… Ok, now I was kind of in tension. I wanted to score so the next ball I stroke the ball… soo high ….but unlucky me…. I was not able to swing my bat too far… so I had caught out with a score of 63 runs, I was applauded by my teammates, the judges and my friends by loud clapping as I batted well.

Now it was serious, 3 balls 6 runs. My pal stroked the ball but this time it was boundary 4 runs. Yaay! Nice, now 2 balls 2 runs. We managed to take only 1 run and they won.

They shook hands with us at the end. Their captain told me “we know we are a strong team but you play as if you were the masters. I was also shocked when you only needed 2 runs to win", he commented. I will never forget this match as indeed it was ........"A Remarkable Match”.
