A Miraculous Love Story - I

It was a big day for Rajiv. It was his first job interview after completing graduation. Rajiv was a little late on that day to attend the interview. Even though late, he finally came and sat down himself on the chair spread out in the waiting area. Even before he was settled down, his name was called to move inside the chamber where the interview was being held. Quickly, he took out the file that contained all his documents from his bag and hurriedly moved towards the door of the chamber.

When he was about to push the door and enter inside, suddenly a girl pulled the door from the opposite side and startled Rajiv. He lost his balance and was about to fall on this girl. But then somehow, he balanced himself and looked at her to say sorry. Her first glance made his heart skipped a beat. It was like love at first sight for Rajiv. In a pure and absolute adorable expression she just closed her eyes as if Rajiv was doomed to fall on her. When Rajiv said sorry to her, she opened her eyes and she herself said sorry too. Then she came out and Rajiv moved in. When she went passed him and moved towards the exit of the building, Rajiv turned and looked at her in the anticipation that she would also turn back to look at him. But to his utter disappointment she didn’t turned. Rajiv laughed at himself realising the fact that he is neither Shahrukh nor she is Kajol.

Rajiv was startled again when someone called his name to attend the interview. He just took a deep breath, cleared his mind and moved inside to face his interview. After around 30 odd minutes, his interview seemed to have come to an end. He knew he had done well and he would definitely be selected. While returning from the chamber, he paused at the door for a moment, reminisced the incident that just happened half an hour ago. While thinking about that girl who seemed to have taken over his mind and heart alike, he had a broad smile on his face.

The outburst of emotions in his heart and the desire, anxiousness and yearning to see that girl again made him impulsive and he just rushed out of the office hoping to find that girl. He scanned the whole area looking for that girl, but he couldn’t find her anywhere. Then he ran towards the canteen as he thought she might be in there to have her lunch. But no, he realised, he was out of luck today. Disappointment flashed across his face and it was indeed apparent. The final light of hope he had to see that girl again seemed to fade away.

Finally he decided to move out of the canteen. Holding the door knob he was about to push the door, when suddenly he heard a peculiar and familiar tone of someone laughing and giggling. That tone itself seemed to have a throbbing effect on his heart and it made his heartbeat elevate and his body sweat. His hand felt glued to the door knob. Somehow he managed to move out of this transfix and turned back. His eyes shifted to the girl who was laughing. She just moved out of the restroom and was heading towards the dining area. All the time she was busy in a call with someone. When he looked at her face, his eyes dilated with feelings of joy and happiness.

At last he succeeded to find the girl he has been looking for anxiously from the last few minutes. He continued staring at her in amazement. He just wanted to get an eyeful of her glorious and mesmerizing aura. Her smile itself was so appealing and satisfying that whenever she smiled while talking, Rajiv also smiled looking at her. Just her presence gave an immense satisfaction to Rajiv. He has been in a relationship before, but for the first time in his life he was experiencing this sensation of rush of emotions and feelings. After getting an eyeful of her glorious and mesmerizing aura, he decided to approach her and have a formal conservation. They both came for the interview and both of them have a common topic to start their conservation. This is what Rajiv had in his mind.

When he started approaching towards her, he realised she has been busy with someone over a call from the moment she noticed her coming from the restroom. Rajiv thought it won’t be a good gesture to disturb her while she is busy talking to someone. He took a seat near to her table in the dining area and was waiting for her to hang up her phone. A sudden pain in her abs shifted his attention from the girl to the urge of draining his filled bladder which was about to burst. He has been controlling and denying nature’s call from the moment he stepped out of the office. He seemed to have reached his breaking point now. Unable to control anymore, he just rushed to the restroom.

After attending nature’s call when he came out and noticed that the table where that girl has been sitting was empty, a feeling of panic grew in him. He became dreadful and started looking for her, but couldn’t find her anywhere in the canteen. A confusing question strikes his mind at that time. “Has she left or she is in the restroom”? Unable to find the exact answer to this question, he decided to move out of the canteen and look for her. He ran down towards the main gate looking everywhere for her. He spent good amount of time at the gate searching for her, but it went all in vain.

He again ran towards the canteen hoping to find her there, in case she would have been in the restroom when he moved out of the canteen towards the gate. He moved inside the canteen and stood near to the restroom. He was constantly gazing here and there looking for her, but couldn’t find her anywhere. Even then he stood there in a hope that she would come out of the restroom any moment. His hopes turned to ashes as the canteen became deserted. No one was around, except the members of the staff. He gave an anguished cry inside and felt completely shattered. The question of whether he will be able to see her again or not ripped his heart. He couldn’t believe how foolish and unwise he could be to miss this chance just for the sake of emptying his bladder. Frustrated and annoyed at himself, he took a seat and tried to calm down his resentful emotions.

Finally, with his broken heart he decided to leave after sitting there like that for some time. When he reached the main gate and took his visitor’s identity card, he suddenly remembered that girl was also carrying the same identity card which he noticed when he was about to fall on that girl at the door. He moved inside the security cabin to put his out signature and timing in the register. The first thing he did was to check for the name of the girls that visited today. He noticed there were a total of 4 girls, out of which two of them moved out even before he came and there were two girls who left half an hour ago. Noticing a time difference of just five minutes in both of their departure, he couldn’t decide who that girl could be. Was it Sneha or was it Priyanka? This final hope of at least knowing her name felt torn up. In an utter disbelief of the series of events he had faced today, he just decided to give it up and moved out of the gate.

The moment he stepped out of the gate, he laughed his heart out thinking what a tragic day it has been as he experienced all kinds of emotions. Feelings of love, joy, satisfaction, anger and resentment, all just in a couple of hours. Suddenly his phone started ringing. He took out his phone and noticed it was an unknown number. He was definitely not in the mood to have a conversation now, so he didn’t answer the call. The moment it went missed, the truecaller app in his phone displayed the name of the caller as Sneha. As he recollected the name of one of the girl in that register was also Sneha, his heart started throbbing. Could it be the same girl? But how on earth is that even possible. How could she get his number and if she is not that Sneha, who is this Sneha. A series of numerous questions surrounded his mind and he went blanked. Keeping all the questions and confusions aside, he dialed this number.
