A Dream Come True?

As Jeremy entered his house, he was stunned to see Rose and Rick right in front of his eyes. Rose is Jeremy's wife and Rick is their 5-year-old son.

A year ago, Rose got a call from Rick's school saying that he fainted while playing with his friends on the playground. Rose hurried to the school. She took him to the hospital and it was then that they found out that Rick was suffering from cancer. This news came to them as a shock.

Rick was their only son. They became very protective of him. Jeremy had bought him all the indoor games he desired so that he does not get out of the house to play with his friends. But one day Rick was playing with his toys, as he spotted his next-door friends playing, through the window. After seeing them play he felt like joining them. He begged Rose to let him go out to play. Poor Rose could not refuse her son.

After some time, Jeremy gets a call in his office. It was from Rose. Rick had fainted again and was hospitalized.

Jeremy rushed to the hospital. He was shattered to see his son in the ICU. But today he is happy to see Rick and Rose standing in front of him. Just when he runs towards them to hug them the alarm clock starts ringing. He wakes up and puts off the alarm clock on the bed table. He looks at the photo of Rick hanging on the wall and starts weeping. It is Rick’s first death anniversary today!
