YOUR SPECIAL SENSES.

YOUR SPECIAL SENSES.

EYES are organs of sight or vision, to detect images of visible lights

Generate electrical nerve impulses for varying colours as in a rainbow,

Short sight and long sights are common, can be corrected with lenses,

Colour blindness is a rare familial condition that can prevail!

Ears are organs of hearing and balancing to differentiate sound stimuli

People working in factories exposed to loud noises suffer from deafness

Ear discharge, tinnitus, vertigo are symptoms of ear diseases.

Early recognition and treatment could save lives and prevent hearing loss!

Labyrinth of the cochlea are vestibular organs in the ears for balancing,

To perceive our body position, spatial orientation and make our eyes move.

Co-ordinate with the brain to adjust body posture and eye movements

Using all the information brain further controls balance and coordination!

Skin is an organ of sensation of touch, vibration; hair follicles are receptors,

Pressure receptors perceive a variety of sensations for instant responses.

Proprioception is a sense of the relative position of neighbouring parts of the body

Its strength of the effort is employed to move the limbs for locomotion and travel!

Taste buds are on the surface of the tongue responsible for the sense of taste.

Sweet, bitter, sour, salty and umami, are all tastes that we can recognise with ease!

Sense of taste can be differentiated; usually confused with a sense of flavour

Which is a combination of taste and smell, you feel a runny nose while eating!

The nose is the organ of smell, its olfactory system regulates smell and taste as well

Women may give off a scent when ovulating, men taste it while kissing them!

The kissing flavour of love is soft and subtle, it also has a slightly sweet taste to it?

Good kissing is a sign, you will have healthy kids, it’s all to do with that DNA!
