Withered Tree
Withered Tree

Look, O human beings
Don't bring in the destruction
Let nature play its role
So, respond to nature's call
Look at me and my position
And think of human beings
Today I am branchless with no green leaves
Still, I stand erect and live
I have enjoyed full utility
And served well the humanity
I had a vast area covered
That provided strangers with a shed
All passersby looked at and thanked
No one thought and staked claim
At least they spared me
And allowed the branchless tree
Everybody faces the time
And crumbles upon any time
Even though I am dry and may fall any time
You also think of your past time
