Where My Heart Wants To Be
Where My Heart Wants To Be
I listen to my own voice
Reverberating in my ears
Then…dying down slowly
Heard well…etched in my mind
Like those moments…
Relived for many moments that follow
As the magpie flaps in slow motion
As the hills whisper back to me
The forests in silence…
Stand tall – grounding me
Like those lessons…
Of my childhood engraved for eternity
I inhale the hues of greens
Shapes so many, challenging creativity
There…all around on the slopes so steep
At times seeking me, unexpectedly
like those surprises…
Hidden in the crannies of life, incessantly
Now, as I walk away from the wild
The unknown to the familiar
I stand lost in my world…
Of so many others like you, like me
But nowhere do I find
The song of the wings
The touch of the slopes
And the smell of the colors
I grope for the place that’s lost…
The place where my heart wants to be…
