Where Are You Now?
Where Are You Now?
Where are you now?
I miss you madly;
You were perfect,
None like you can be!
Where are you now?
I think of you when I eat, I think of you when I call it a day,
I think of you all the time,
Oh! You were so beautiful!
Where are you now?
As a ten-year-old boy, I missed being a pampered and protected baby;
As a middle age man, I missed the carefree days of a teenager;
With sagging skin and gray hair, I miss rather intensely my stable 30s and 40s!
One fine morning, I shuddered in utter disbelief;
A stroke! I had a narrow escape;
For once, I started to
obsess with my "present";
I did not care about my past; I did not worry about my future!
I paused, I reflected; Nothing could be as beautiful as the "present";
I painted cheerful pictures and happy moods for my "present";
Dwelling in the past is a mirage of sorts; Future is an illusion in its own way;
The present is the only truth!
Slowly, steadily, I chose to live in the moment;
I am happier than ever; I became healthier like never before;
I enjoyed the little joys and chased my dreams all too positively;
I never once went back to my old self; I never asked, "Where are you now?" again!
