At first light

I saw the moon

In Phoebus' arena.

He tried hard to shine;

To call the sky "mine".

But the Sun shows him his place;

After a final bid he fades.

Why?

Why does he die trying?

Is it because he used less of the Sun's secret

Or because he used even lesser of his own?
