Truisms In Life
Truisms In Life
Sometimes she feels like a half
Baked cake
Pulled out of the oven before
Alarm went off
Browned on top, gooey inside
Totally inedible
Maybe it's conditioning of the
Environment
Half knowledge, half superficial,
Lacking in depth
Does this happen to those whose roots
Lie in the soils of a different land?
Branches grow under the sun elsewhere
Mixed loyalties arise
Identity crisis creeps into the mind as to
Who am I?
This dilemma exists eating their insides
All the time
Half a person, with divided loyalties, cannot
Be whole, nor pretend to be fine.
