Too Heavy To Carry
Too Heavy To Carry

Words piled up
Between us
Surrounding us
Making us trip, tumble, and fall
Into an abyss so deep
There was no way to go back.
Unspoken, yet unnerving
They hovered around
Pricking as a thorny embrace
When our hands touched
And eyes refused to meet.
Whispers in the dark night
Murmurs in the daylight
Secrets that bring a terrifying fight
None made past the sealed lips
Even as a hell threatened to break loose.
Days drained into weeks
Weeks dragged into months
Months seemed to multiply
As the embrace turned cold
We wished in vain, for the void to go away.
