Let Them Go
Let Them Go

Thick clouds loomed overhead
Shadows crawling across my garden
Turning red roses black
Coloring white chrysanthemum gray.
Drop after drop, rain glistened
Dripping from the tender leaves
Forming a shallow puddle
For the fallen petals to float.
Huddled under a mango tree
Petrichor brought to life the buried memories
Enveloping me in a cold embrace
Cascading down my face.
Collecting the diamonds in my palm
I smiled at their colorless state
Allowing them to drip onto the tiny buds
I wondered if letting go of memories was as easy.
