Tides

Tides

1 min
199

We were standing on the edge of the sea enjoying life

While the tides slowly got higher and the currents near

You pointed to the sky and admired how beautiful and clear

It was as if you were trying to calm my fear

Of this impending doom that would so suddenly pull us apart

As I held you so tight trying to fight the tearing of two hearts

It was in that moment I watched your lips part

One last kiss before the pain and waves start

When all was said and done you held me close

You said it wasn’t my fault that you loved me the most

I then stood in the sand with my head buried in my hands

Once again the loneliest man to a life alone condemned

Praying and hoping for my actions you won’t be damned
