The Value
The Value
You don't know the value of water, unless you're terribly thirsty,
Don't know the value of trust, until a friend turns into an adversary,
You don't know the value of memories unless you see your first tee,
And it fits your hand like a glove, reminds you of when you were in pre nursery,
You don't know the value of a reply unless you're ignored for days,
You don't know the value of choices, until your life shows no ways,
Of changing, your situation might go but then the lesson stays,
You don't know the value of something, as long as something, in your hand, lays
You don't know the value of the summer warmth until winter arrives,
You don't know the value of the roses with minor thorns showered on you,
Until you find yourself as the target to the razor sharp knives,
Because people who were never hurt in life, there exist just a few,
You don't know the value of you dad's safety until you find yourself surrounded by thieves,
You don't know the value of your mom's effort, unless you get hands on with the blades and the sieves,
You don't know the value of being ordinary, unless down and under you're pushed, and a heavy load your mind heaves,
You don't know the value of a person in your life, until that person leaves.
