The Temptation
The Temptation
Naive was I
To think I could fly high.
Was I a bloke
To be lured by a smoke?
Succumbed I to the temptation
A deep deeper inhalation,
It was nicotine all the way
My fingers nor my mind did sway.
An everyday task it became
With just me but no one to blame.
A difference in my breathing
Lack of it had me seething
One look in the mirror
Made me shriek in horror!
A youthful face turned grotesque
Could I stop the habit in a brusque
Nay, for trapped was I
With my lips crying a sigh!
