The sonnet of the Moonless Night
The sonnet of the Moonless Night
In the midnight, I peered through my window,
Expecting the moon, its fading yellow.
But I found the sky gloomy and dark,
No stars and no gleams of the moon.
It was silent and throughout shadows lurked.
I knew dawn was'nt soon.
Still I searched for the vibrant streaks,
But only darkness filled my vision.
I saw an owl and heard its mysterious shrieks.
I felt nothing right out of my intuition.
The moonless sky looked like wingless bird,
A nameless fear, an unknown feeling crawled up my sleeve,
Neither a speck of of light was seen nor a rustling was heard .
In the dark I saw a fairy dance as if for the moon she grieve.
