The Sin Of Youth
The Sin Of Youth
I don't know how to say it but I know I really want to
Our lives are a mess and you know we've been lied to
Our future's unsecure, and our parents disappointed
A few moments of freedom, isn't that all we ever wanted?
The world's gone to hell and we're barely holding on
The lessons history taught us, I guess they're all gone
They say time will heal everything, but I'm not too sure
I'm just as scared as you, don't know what we're fighting for
Pretending we're not lonely, acting like we're not lost
Living in the greatest time surely, but we don't know our cause.
Filled with bliss in a moment and depressed in another
Finding love in a moment and in the next we don't bother
And maybe you're right, maybe people don't care
Maybe the only way to win at life is to not play fair
But what do we know? We're just a couple of poets
Bleeding on paper, letting our words fight in protest
I don't know how to say it but I know I really want to
Our lives are a mess and you know we've been lied to
