The Scarecrow
The Scarecrow
“Howdy! Mr. Scarecrow how is your day today?
How many birds did you scare?
Or did someone scared you back?
Is your back and leg aching?
What are you wondering?
Is your job at risk?
Are you wondering why I am not scared?
You always have a grin on your face
But never tell a word.
Let stand on your shoulder
And see the way you see the field.
Ahh!!! The scene looks soo beautiful”
“Mr. Scarecrow can I have a corn?
It looks beautiful and appetizing
I always get hungry after flying
If you don’t say a word I will take as a ‘Yes’”
The Scarecrow maintains his silence
“Thank you soo very much you are the best
Nom peck nom peck nom peck nom nom
Burp!!! That was good and thank you once again”
“Since I am full let me fly back to my family
I thank you once again for your generosity”
The crow spread her wings and was ready to fly
But her claws got stuck in the scarecrow’s straw hat
That was glued to the pot head
“Hey!!! Mr Scarecrow please let me go
I need to hurry back as my father is worried”
The farmer sees the crow who was sitting on the hat
He picks his rifle and shot the crow
The crow fell on the spot
“Ah I see now Mr. Scarecrow
You did your job well
My inquisitiveness brought me to my grave”
The crow dies
But the Scarecrow remains silent
As he stands still holding that position.
