The Road Is Mine
The Road Is Mine
Life will… for you—
joys, obstacles, failures—
always throw.
And with them all…
I was taught to grow.
I must catch—
be hit—
or sometimes… dodge.
For there is no place
for complaints to lodge.
Even with a tired soul…
and bloodied feet…
I must not whine—
For this treacherous, stony road…
is still mine.
Betrayed… and loved…
along the way—
I won’t give up…
I’ll let life have its say.
Rising… turning… falling like waters…
I learn… to move with the flow.
And even through dusk…
I rise again—
to find… my own quiet glow.
