THE RED ROSE
THE RED ROSE
THE RED ROSE
Red like blood
An ebullient spirit evoked
Petals embraced by hands
On the green, the leaves choked.
A day passed by
The rose revelled at a thought
That it's prettier in every way
For all the beauty it had caught
Another day passes
The rose was turning old
It bellowed as it dried
In a jiffy, it was cold.
I see it from my window
I wince at the sight
Foot trodden, heaves at each step
The red rose vanished at the road side.
