The Real Man
The Real Man
O my son
As you grow up
Don't just become
A doctor, engineer or
A policeman
Don't just reduce yourself
To the stature of machine
And become a walking ATM.
Rather you become
A true human.
Don't ever flaunt the power
That rests in your hands
Rather, lend a helping hand
To the weak and needy
When the time demands.
Have a heart and soul
Full of love and compassion
Live a life full of
Zeal and passion.
I don't ask you to
Glorify women
And treat them, as if
They descend from heaven,
Rather treat them equal
Just like your fellowmen.
Have a heart which has
Room for everyone
Become a voice that speaks
For the fallen
and downtrodden.
As you grow up
Have a spine
And stand up for the causes
That you really care for
With all your conviction.
O dear son
Just don't grow up in a man
Rather you rise up
To be a real man.
