A Pair of Blue Eyes

As the bells rang in my heart

I smiled and danced,

For being chosen by God

To be a mom soon.

My joys knew no leaps and bounds

My excitement had no words.

I could see flowers

Blossoming everywhere,

The world had adorned beauty

Which sprang out of nowhere.

Love at first sight was common

But I fell in love with my baby

Who was unseen, unborn.

Then came the day

When the baby was in my arms

And he pierced my soul

With his pair of blue eyes.

I could feel myself melting away

In the depth of those eyes

Not just for that moment

But for an entire lifetime.
