The Mask
The Mask
Why show,
when we can hide,
behind our face,
is left no pride,
we wear our mask,
to cover it all,
From contentment to sorrow,
Excitement and all.
Our mask only shows,
a smiling face,
what it hides are our tears and base,
we climb so high,
yet still, wear this,
our masks can take no risks.
What if someone sees us,
no, that can’t happen,
put your mask on,
an> so, none can slacken. Our true selves lie behind, that mask, yes, we can see it, it’s quite fake and small. We should take our stand, tilt our heads high a little, our masks are ought to fall, for, they are so brittle. Learn to embrace, your crying face, absorb– it’s okay not to be okay. The mask we wear, should come off, because it’s us, not the mask that's small.
