The Long Night
The Long Night

Dark and endless
Cold and relentless
Callous and ruthless
May seem this long night
But when has it been?
That women and men
Have given up all hope
Without a fight
Our minds are tense
And the worry is intense
But no one ever said
That it will be easy to bear
So, we need to make sure
That our love is more
Strong and powerful
Than panic and fear
Compassion towards the poor
Kindness towards the needy
To those who could feed
When times were breezy
When we alleviate their suffering
Our pain becomes less
For only then can we be the children
That the Almighty shall bless
This is the time to be the spark
That ignites the flame
In our hearts so we realize
We are no different, but the same
That we are willing to endure
We are willing to dive
Into the sea of uncertainties
So that we shall survive
Long and unforgiving
Though may seem this long night
It will soon be over
For there will be light
