The Lesson By The Nun
The Lesson By The Nun
It was a peaceful night
Moonlit sky was a heck of a sight
The two friends decided to go for a walk
They had their problems, and a lot to talk
They were worried about money and food
Oh how they thought, life was no good
As they were passing by an abandoned building
They suddenly felt a cold shivering
Startled, they looked at each other in fear
It was a sight they could not bear
Standing calmly was the ghost of a nun
They lost control and tried to run
But seeing her stand in peace,
They regained strength and stood with ease
She stared at them and uttered quietly
O dear souls, you two have a wonderful family
Still, you discuss issues that are materialistic
Oh, don’t you see the night today is so artistic
Rejoice and be thankful for what you have
Whether you have money or not is not the issue
Happiness is the real wealth, know only a few
This time is a gem that you will never have again
Look at me, all I ever did when alive was to complain
And here I am, mourning over the lost time
Oh what a habit I had, what a crime
Everything you have will be lost in a day
But family will be with you, come whatever may
Learn this lesson, o dear sons
Enjoy the dusk, enjoy the dawns
Enlightened, the friends shared a big smile
They realized how life can change in just a while.
