The Judgement Business
The Judgement Business
Why do we judge?
When we know life is short
People facing battles of every sort
Never knowing the volume of pain they've got
Or how many throbbing situations they've fought
Why do we judge?
Based on the outer appearance, ignoring the crust.
We never know what's behind that smile,
A stream of sorrow that joins the Nile.
Why do we judge?
When we know it's wrong
Without knowing their history or from where they belong.
Happy is the one who listens to joyful music we feel,
But what about the sad song days he deals?
Why do we judge?
When we don't know the intentions
Believing one guilty of performing contraventions.
While executing our thoughts we feel it's the truth we're stating
But in reality, it's our character that's shaking.
Why do we judge?
Without knowing what's behind all that confidence,
After a tedious past which came as a consequence
Behind all those properties and wealth,
An ocean of loneliness that's felt.
Why do we judge?
On the basis of ones excited glow,
Overlooking the blot of tears on his pillow.
How we degrade a personality nice and slow,
Believing our personality is as white as snow.
Why do we judge?
Based on his looks and his shining car
Where were we when loans and debts left him an internal scar?
I wish we could lock our judging powers tightly in a jar,
And throw it away from humanity very, very far.
Why do we judge?
I don't think we will ever have an answer,
Everyone will continue working for this business as a freelancer.
And we will never find an idol that never judged a face,
As human society continues to connect superiority with race.
