The Hurricane
The Hurricane
The havoc all around I see
With blackouts and bizarre experiences
The words that had no meaning were said
And they still linger around like haunting clouds
Mysterious and precarious this night,
Thunderstorms and lightning
Worsen it all.
The final goodbye to the hurricane
Seems a never ending feat
Madness and porcelain breaking, mending and nothing is left.
The hurricane blows and takes with it
All the imagination and reason and power
Dries up the spirit, shakes the trees
Fills the heart with ecstasy, a fool you become
And then it finally leaves.
The wind comes and goes but with it
Alas! It carries deep melancholy
The struggling stormy night
And the shelter's far from me.
The rain is as fierce as it could be
Sorrow sorrounds, this is the great misery.
Clear voice of a sobbing sea
Intimidates itself or others
No one can see.
The vision is blurred
The agony does not let you breathe
The regret is real, the heart aggrieved.
Given it up, this nature's play
Thought of it but so hard to say.
The hurricane knows nothing,
Just causes destruction, pain and dismay
Never ever should you be travelling
It's harsh and indifferent way.
The cruel hailstorm and standing in the rain
Drenched till the core, sane or insane?
No one can tell , the hurricane still crushing
Tosses a poor flower, scars and bruises.
Please wake up and tear down this masquerade
Though imagination is lost, just don't cry today.
You've seen so much, now breakaway
The hurricane has done too much harm anyway.
This pain will also pass, like other stories
The sun will rise, slowly but surely
Healing begins so let it be
Past it was now you are free.
Smile because the hurricane is now gone
Torturous days, misty eyes
Replace them with a new song.
Sometimes I ask myself, did this experience took the best of me?
'No' comes the answer,
Cause I still have dreams and I'm still breathing.
