Others

Aspirant

Aspirant

They are just a face in the crowd

No one sees them, no one notices them

No one to laugh with, no one to cry with

Oh! So sad, they suffer alone.

Running after targets, need to complete them

Trying to avoid the unavoidable mayhem

Just making through the day

 and trying to be okay

The aspirant, struggling to find the way.

Fearful of another failure

Dismayed, cold, no emotions left to feel

Poor aspirant is a human prone to sadness

Please see they are not made of steel.

The loved ones look to them with hopeful eyes

But the aspirants can't even explain their plight

They feel the burden, falling apart inside

But still keep their smiles alive.

No one knows this journey except the aspirants themselves

How personal, how lonely it is, the everyday struggle

The hopes that die, emerge again

as the aspirant opens the eyes and morning has arrived

Books, lectures and new challenges await them.
