The Green Fields
The Green Fields
While travelling by the train,
A beautiful thought crossed my brain,
The fields & trees, grasses so green,
I wonder, where had these I already seen?
Seen in my dreams, when I was a child,
When I played, when I was wild,
When cool wind blew past my face,
I could just wonder at nature’s grace.
The green field, the grasses lush,
On my weary face, they lightly brush,
Till on my face there’s a blush,
Filled with happiness, I feel very flushed.
My country is vast, of bright, green fields,
Of farmers & peasants, of workers & guilds,
Now, I am feeling sleepy,
The only thing that keeps me happy.
