The Getaway
The Getaway
My Tiger friend has got the sledge,
And I have packed some snacks
We are all set for the trip ahead,
We are never coming back!
We are abandoning this life we have led!
So long Mom and Pop!
We are sick of doing what you’ve said,
And now, it is going to stop.
We are going, where it snows all year,
Where life can have a real meaning;
A place where we won’t have to hear,
‘Your room could stand some cleaning’.
The Yukon* is the place for us!
That is where we want to be;
Up there we will get to yell and cuss,
And act Real Primitive.
We will never have to go to school,
Forced into submissions;
By monstrous crabby teachers,
Who will make us learn additions.
We will never have to clean a plate,
Of veggie, glop and goofs,
Messily we will masticate,
Using any fork we choose!
No more parental rule
We’re heading for some snow;
Good riddance to those grown up ghouls!
We are leaving! Yukon Ho!
